VirtualCal is a joint collaboration project developed by UC-San Diego and CICESE, funded by UC-MEXUS and México’s National Scientific Council CONACYT, whose main purpose is to allow and promote through the application of IT technologies the formation of interdisciplinary workgroups, all this, while working in the developing of a video-conferencing system with shared multimedia resources over Internet2 (I2.) This system will integrate a set of collaborative tools for the creation of group documents and  e-presentations.
