Ensenada is a small city located in the northwest of Mexico, 60 miles south of the Mexico-US border.
Population is about 260,000 with an annual growth rate of 4%.
Tourism, fishing, agriculture, and industry are the most important factors in the economical development of the city.
The confluence of academic, cultural and research activities in the area is outstanding. The campus of the University of Baja California, in addition to the National University of Mexico's Institutes of Astronomy a nd Physics, a private School of Medicine plus several small research centers, represent a major feature of the city.
